Although enchanted by the scene above through my window, I was totally surprised two weeks later when its image stirred something inside me and a poem started to form spontaneously.
If only I could be like the sunrise,
taking a high view of the world and all the people across it,
lifting the hearts of those who greet me and
accepting without opinion those who yawn and turn away;
transforming clouds into something glorious and
not regretting that the glory soon fades,
letting go of what I was yesterday
and embracing what I am today.
If I contemplated the sunrise each morning,
would I become more like one as days go by?
Perhaps I shall try it and see . . .

Beautifully written and those pictures are amazing!
Beautiful pictures, Sally, and thoughtful accompanying verse. Like it! Sorry so late in responding, but we just got back from our trip. I do thoroughly enjoy these verse/picture combinations into lovely poetry.
What a gift the sunrise is to the morning and your poetry gives such meaning to this beautiful part of the day. Will never look at a sunrise the same way again. Thank you for your gift.
Lovely! Lovely! Thanks for sharing. The photos really express the sentiment.
I will remember to contemplate next time I see a sunrise. So inspiring!
Your poem makes me smile, because I rarely seen sunrises. I am a “night person.” So I viewed your photos as sunsets and will have to contemplate what that makes me. 😉
